Douglas Tate, a 47-year-old African American man, tragically lost his life on August 10, 2019, in Chicago, Illinois. On that fateful evening, Douglas was sitting in a vehicle in the 3300 block of West Chicago Avenue when an assailant approached and opened fire. He was struck in the right arm and the left armpit. Despite being rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital, Douglas succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead shortly after.
