Jeremiah Murphy Jr., a 28-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on September 3, 2019, in Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred in the 1500 block of South Christiana Avenue, near two charter schools in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side of Chicago. Officers responding to reports of gunfire found Murphy with multiple gunshot wounds to his chest. He was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
