On September 22, 2007, Robert Rutledge, aged 40, was found severely injured in an alley in the 2800 block of Parkwood Avenue, Baltimore. He had sustained blunt force trauma to the head, and the injuries were so severe that he was transported to Shock Trauma, where he ultimately passed away two days later on September 22. The death was ruled as a homicide, and it was part of a grim year for Baltimore that saw 281 homicides recorded.
