Xe’Quan Campbell, a 16-year-old African American male from Carbondale, Illinois, was tragically shot and killed on November 1, 2019. The incident occurred early in the morning at 1225 W. Freeman Street, where Carbondale Police responded to reports of a gunshot victim around 2:44 a.m. Upon arrival, they found Campbell suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries.
