Dexter Byrd, a 19-year-old African American male from East St. Louis, Illinois, tragically lost his life on January 28, 2020. On that fateful night, police officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 300 block of Range Lane. Upon arrival, they found Dexter Byrd in the front yard of his residence, suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, Dexter succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
