Gaylend Ryan Allen-Davis, a 33-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on February 3, 2020, in Champaign, Illinois. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning when Champaign Police responded to a reported shooting in the 1300 block of Mariner Way. Upon arrival, officers discovered Gaylend Ryan Allen-Davis unresponsive inside a vehicle, suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Despite being transported to a local hospital, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
The investigation into the death of Gaylend Ryan Allen-Davis led to the identification and subsequent arrest of D’Andre Miller, also 33 years old, for his alleged involvement in the homicide. On October 6, 2020, the Champaign County Street Crimes Task Force and the United States Marshal’s Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force apprehended Miller in Champaign. He was charged with first-degree murder, and his bond was set at $2 million.
