Robert Chitty, a 49-year-old African American male from Chicago, Illinois, tragically lost his life on June 15, 2020. Robert, who had both legs amputated and used a wheelchair, was found fatally shot in a basement apartment in the Calumet Heights neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago. Witnesses reported hearing arguing followed by gunfire around 8:10 a.m. that morning. Robert was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
