Thornella Grubbs, a 28-year-old African American woman, was tragically killed on July 5, 2020, in Chicago, IL. The incident occurred in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side of Chicago. Thornella and a group of people were lighting fireworks on the sidewalk in the 1500 block of South Millard Avenue when a white vehicle approached, and someone inside started shooting.
