Miguel A. Rios, an 18-year-old Hispanic male, tragically lost his life on July 19, 2020, in Chicago, IL. Miguel was shot and killed in the Little Village neighborhood during an alleged robbery. On the night of his death, Miguel was driving from his girlfriend's home when he was targeted by assailants near Washtenaw and 24th Street. After being struck multiple times by gunfire, he crashed his vehicle into a tree.
His mother, Catalina Andrade, was out of the country at the time and received the heartbreaking news while abroad.
Miguel had recently graduated from UIC College Prep and was looking forward to attending the University of Illinois Chicago to pursue mechanical engineering.
