On August 2, 2020, 28-year-old Darren D. Sims was fatally shot in Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred around 6 a.m. in the North Lawndale neighborhood, specifically on the 2300 block of South Kolin Avenue. Responding to a ShotSpotter alert, officers discovered Darren Sims and another 28-year-old man, Quincy Ferguson Jr., inside a vehicle. Both had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the head and body and were pronounced dead at the scene.
