Katari Rashad Smith, a 27-year-old African American male from Decatur, Illinois, passed away on August 17, 2020. His death occurred at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Katari was born on December 17, 1992, and was the son of Dewanda (Cunningham) Pettit and Anthony L. Pettit, Jr. He was educated in Decatur Public Schools and had a passion for sports, particularly basketball and baseball.
