In the spring of 2008, the life of Ronald Crowell Jr., a 22-year-old Black man, was tragically cut short on the streets of Baltimore. On the evening of May 19th, in the 1600 block of Normal Avenue, Crowell became a victim of homicide, his death caused by a handgun. While some records indicate the date of his death as May 24, 2008, the violent end to his young life marked another grim statistic in the city's struggle with gun violence.
