Jalen Terry, a 19-year-old African American male from Chicago Heights, IL, tragically lost his life on August 31, 2020. The incident occurred in Sauk Village, where Jalen was fatally shot around 9:55 p.m. in the 2900 block of 223rd Place. He was transported by ambulance to Franciscan Health Dyer in Dyer, Indiana, where he was pronounced dead less than an hour later. The shooter or shooters had fled the scene before the police arrived, leaving the investigation open and ongoing.
