Solomon Little, an 18-year-old African American male from North Chicago, IL, was tragically killed on September 6, 2020. The incident occurred around 7:15 p.m. in the 2000 block of Greenfield Avenue. According to the Lake County Major Crimes Taskforce, a gunman arrived in a vehicle, exited, and opened fire on Solomon Little in the roadway. The young man was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lake County coroner’s office. During the shooting, a 77-year-old woman who was gardening nearby was also wounded by a stray bullet in her leg and was hospitalized. She is expected to survive her injury. The shooter reentered the vehicle and drove off.
The investigation into Solomon Little's death is ongoing. As of now, there have been no arrests or suspects publicly identified in connection with the case. The Lake County Major Crimes Taskforce continues to seek information and leads from the public to help solve this tragic incident.
