Mieya C. Sims, a 25-year-old African American woman, tragically lost her life on October 10, 2020, in Chicago, IL. The incident occurred in the West Garfield Park neighborhood, specifically in the 4500 block of West Wilcox Street. Mieya and another woman, aged 22, were standing in an alley at approximately 2:27 a.m. when an unknown assailant opened fire.
