On the evening of October 30, 2020, at approximately 9:30 p.m., 32-year-old Tom James, a father of six, was fatally shot in Chicago's Morgan Park neighborhood. The incident occurred in the 11600 block of South Vincennes Avenue. According to police reports, an assailant entered a residence and opened fire, resulting in multiple injuries. Tom James, who was shot in the head, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Two other individuals, including a 16-year-old boy, sustained critical injuries, while a third person was reported to be in fair condition. Authorities have indicated that the shooting was drug-related. At the time of the report, no arrests had been made, and the investigation was ongoing.
