Nautica Banks, a 23-year-old African American woman from Chicago, Illinois, tragically lost her life on December 2, 2020, in a violent incident that involved a high-speed chase and shooting. The incident began around 8:30 p.m. near Kostner Avenue and the Eisenhower Expressway when a dark blue Chevrolet Equinox SUV started pursuing a white Kia Optima sedan.
