Nicholas Dukes, a 31-year-old man from Merrillville, Indiana, was fatally shot on December 14, 2020, in Riverdale, Illinois. The incident occurred around 4:25 p.m. in the 14500 block of South Halsted Street. According to the Cook County medical examiner's office, Dukes was shot multiple times and pronounced dead about 20 minutes after the shooting.
The investigation into Dukes' death revealed that two suspects, Joshua Bobbitt and Nicholas Morris, were involved in the shooting. Authorities believe that Bobbitt and Morris pursued Dukes' car, made a U-turn, and fired multiple rounds into the vehicle, fatally injuring him. The suspects then allegedly watched the vehicle run off the road before fleeing the scene.
In response to the shooting, the FBI offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of each suspect, with a total reward of $10,000 for information on both individuals. The family of Nicholas Dukes also urged anyone with information to come forward to help bring his killers to justice.
As of now, the suspects remain at large, and the investigation continues. The FBI and local authorities are actively seeking information from the public to apprehend Bobbitt and Morris.
