Sharon Bell, a 69-year-old woman from Aurora, Illinois, was found dead on December 22, 2020, in what authorities determined to be an apparent murder-suicide. The incident took place in the 1800 block of Sapphire Lane, where police were called to perform a welfare check after neighbors noticed newspapers piling up outside the home. Upon entering the residence, officers discovered the bodies of Sharon Bell and her husband, 67-year-old Lee Bell, both of whom had sustained fatal gunshot wounds.
