Malcolm V. Fitts, a 26-year-old African American male from Chicago, was tragically shot and killed on February 28, 2021, in Jacksonville, Illinois. Fitts, originally from Jacksonville, was visiting the area when the incident occurred. He was shot at approximately 5:30 a.m. in the 800 block of Hoagland Boulevard and succumbed to his injuries at Passavant Area Hospital around an hour later.
