Gerald Collymore, a 39-year-old African American man, was tragically killed on June 5, 2021, in Chicago, IL. Officers found him unresponsive around 1:30 a.m. with gunshot wounds to his head and chest in the 1300 block of North Mayfield Avenue. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Cook County medical examiner's office confirmed his identity. Another man, aged 26, was also injured in the shooting, sustaining a gunshot wound to his ankle.
