Karina Paredes, a 32-year-old Hispanic woman, tragically lost her life on June 20, 2021, in Chicago, Illinois. She was fatally shot while riding in a vehicle in the Bucktown neighborhood. The incident occurred around 1 a.m. when another vehicle pulled up alongside and someone inside opened fire. Karina was struck by the gunfire and was subsequently dropped off at Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
