Javier Burch, a 29-year-old African American male, was tragically shot to death on September 16, 2021, in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago. The incident occurred around 9:15 p.m. in the 6000 block of South Racine Avenue. Burch was walking with a large group of people when an unknown assailant approached on foot and opened fire. He was struck multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene.
