On a cold evening in Baltimore, the life of 15-year-old Mayresa Craft, a Black female, was tragically cut short. On January 4, 2009, she and a 16-year-old male friend, Trevane Ricks, were inside an apartment building in the 5600 block of Loch Raven Boulevard when gunfire erupted. The incident, which unfolded around 7:50 p.m., left both teenagers with fatal injuries in what police would investigate as a double homicide.
