Kevin Powell, a 54-year-old African American man, tragically lost his life on March 25, 2023, in Chicago, IL. Powell, who was homeless at the time, was found unresponsive on the landing of a stairwell inside the LaSalle station on the CTA Blue Line. The incident occurred after Powell had fallen asleep on the platform next to a wheelchair full of his belongings.
