On the morning of October 25, 2021, Alfred G. Lee was involved in a fatal altercation at a residence in Sterling. The incident occurred in the 900 block of West 4th Street, where Alfred was shot by Deandre D. Abner, a 29-year-old acquaintance. According to preliminary reports, the altercation between the two men escalated, leading Abner to fire a handgun, striking Alfred. The police were called to the scene at around 7:40 a.m., where they found Alfred deceased inside the residence.
Deandre D. Abner was initially detained at the scene and later arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a firearm.
