Shannon Lofton, a 41-year-old African American man, was tragically killed on January 23, 2022, in the South Shore neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred early in the morning when police responded to a call about a shooting in the 1800 block of East 71st Street. Upon arrival, officers found Shannon Lofton sitting in his car with a gunshot wound to his thigh.
