Quinton Maurice Scott Jr., a 19-year-old African American male from Peoria, Illinois, tragically lost his life on July 4, 2022. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning at the Taft Homes, a low-income housing complex in Peoria. According to reports, Peoria police responded to a shot spotter alert near Washington and Green Streets around 3:30 a.m. Shortly after, Quinton was transported by a private vehicle to OSF Healthcare Saint Francis Medical Center in grave condition.
