Lionel Coward, a 43-year-old African American man, was tragically killed on September 13, 2022, in a mass shooting in Washington Park, Chicago, IL. The incident occurred around 7:45 PM when an argument between two groups escalated into a violent exchange of gunfire. The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed that Lionel Coward suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the back of his head.
