Lavell Winslow, a 13-year-old African American boy, was tragically shot and killed on October 14, 2022, in Chicago, Illinois. Lavell was found with a gunshot wound to his head at Lerner Park in the West Ridge neighborhood. The incident occurred around 10 p.m., and he was discovered on a park bench by an off-duty police officer who heard the gunshot and saw several teenagers fleeing the scene.
