On October 14, 2022, 14-year-old Eric Casique was fatally shot in an apartment located in the 500 block of Piper Lane in Prospect Heights, Illinois. At approximately 3:15 p.m., emergency services were summoned to the scene, where they found Eric with a gunshot wound to the chest. Despite immediate medical attention, he was pronounced dead at 3:47 p.m. The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office later ruled his death a homicide. ((
