Shakita S. Bond, a 31-year-old African American woman from Decatur, IL, tragically lost her life on November 27, 2022. The Decatur Police Department reported that Bond was found unresponsive in a vehicle on the morning of November 26, 2022, after responding to a shooting incident in the area of Sedgwick and Jasper Streets. She was initially taken to Decatur Memorial Hospital and later transferred to Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL, where she succumbed to her injuries the following day.
