Bobby Gene Powell, a 33-year-old white male, tragically lost his life on June 12, 1980, in Swainsboro, Georgia. Powell, who served as the Chief of Police for the Swainsboro Police Department, was responding to a domestic disturbance call when he was fatally shot.
