Sergeant Ronald Charles Cheek, a 59-year-old white male, tragically lost his life on August 5, 1995, in Oglethorpe County, Georgia. He was a dedicated law enforcement officer who had served with the Oglethorpe County Sheriff's Office for 19 years. On the day of his death, Sergeant Cheek responded to a domestic disturbance call, a routine yet perilous aspect of his duties.
