Joseph J. Dessert Jr., a 60-year-old Caucasian male, tragically lost his life on July 29, 1999, in Atlanta, Georgia. His death was part of a horrific mass shooting incident at two day trading firms, Momentum Securities and the All-Tech Investment Group. This event, known as the 1999 Atlanta day trading firm shootings, was perpetrated by Mark Orrin Barton, a former day trader who had suffered significant financial losses.
