On June 22, 2014, John Malone, a 48-year-old man, was found dead in Lithia Springs, Georgia. His body was discovered at the J.B. Hunt trucking terminal on Sydney Court around 7 a.m. Malone had been shot multiple times. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office quickly launched an investigation into the incident. Witnesses provided a description of a suspect's car, which led investigators to a nearby location where they found a woman's body inside a vehicle.
