In the late afternoon of September 13, 2014, Monroe County Sheriff's Deputy Michael Andrew Norris, a 24-year-old male, responded to a call in Bolingbroke, Georgia, that would end his life. Norris, along with his partner, Deputy Jeff Wilson, was dispatched to a residence on Haley Lane following a report of a man attempting suicide who was said to be armed. The call came in around 5:45 p.m., setting in motion a chain of events that would leave a community in mourning.
