Latasha Bell, 26, a Black woman, was fatally shot in Marietta, Georgia, on September 25, 2014, after what police described as a violent domestic confrontation inside the Franklin Road apartment she shared with her boyfriend, David Junior Reid. Reports said the fight turned physical before the gunfire, with investigators alleging Reid tried to strangle her and that Bell managed to break free and arm herself with a knife in an effort to protect herself.
