Kory Moss, a 22-year-old male, and his friend, 24-year-old Stacy Hall, were found shot to death on the morning of February 9, 2015. The grim discovery was made inside an apartment at the Wesley Herrington Homes on Herrington Road after police responded to a call of a person shot.
The initial investigation painted a
picture of a violent encounter. Both men had sustained fatal gunshot wounds. A third individual was reportedly in the apartment at the time of the shooting. This person managed to hide in a back room until the gunfire ceased and then escaped by jumping from a third-story balcony. This witness, however, was unable to provide a clear description of the assailant or assailants.
In the years that have followed, the double homicide of Kory Moss and Stacy Hall has remained an active but unsolved case for the Gwinnett County Police Department. While no suspects have been publicly named in the murders, investigators did identify a person of interest. Jermaine Barker was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence and making false statements to the police.
