Alonzo Cortez, a 22-year-old male from Moultrie, Georgia, tragically lost his life on January 1, 2017. Alonzo Cortez, who was of Hispanic ethnicity, was struck by celebratory gunfire approximately 30 minutes into the new year. The incident occurred when a bullet, fired into the air during New Year's celebrations, descended and fatally struck him in the head.
