According to the investigation, Parker got into an argument earlier in the day with Burdex and another man over drugs. This altercation escalated, and Parker felt disrespected by Burdex, which ultimately led him to commit the fatal act. Parker confessed to detectives that he shot Burdex using two different guns following the argument.
Parker's apprehension was facilitated by his scheduled probation meeting. Homicide detectives learned about his upcoming meeting and apprehended him for a probation violation. During the interaction, Parker agreed to talk to detectives about the shooting, leading to his confession.
As a result of his confession, Parker was charged with an open count of murder and was booked into the Metro Detention Center.
