Malika Jackson, a 21-year-old African American female soldier stationed at Fort Stewart, was found dead on March 5, 2017, in a townhouse in Hinesville, Georgia. Her body was discovered alongside that of 23-year-old Marquez Brown, another soldier from Fort Stewart.
