Sergeant Christopher James Monica, a 42-year-old white male, tragically lost his life on June 13, 2017, in Eatonton, Georgia. He was serving with the Georgia Department of Corrections and was on duty at the time of his death. Sergeant Monica, along with Sergeant Curtis Billue, was transporting 33 prisoners between Hancock State Prison and Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison.
