Donald Matthews, a 26-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on July 22, 2017, in Columbus, Georgia. Matthews, who was a Specialist in the U.S. Army, stationed at Fort Benning, was fatally shot in the early hours of the morning. The incident occurred following an altercation at a local TGI Friday's restaurant.
