Barbara Ann Lewis, a 49-year-old African American woman, was found dead on August 5, 2017, in Sparta, Georgia. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) was called to investigate the deaths of Barbara Ann Lewis and Harold Jones, a 40-year-old African American man, at their residence on Pine Drive. Family members discovered their bodies around 11:00 a.m. on that Saturday.
