In the warm summer evening of June 17, 2018, the sound of laughter and music filled the air at a cookout on Edgewood Drive in South Macon, Georgia. Among those enjoying the gathering was 16-year-old Calvin Bernard Harvey, a Black male known to his friends as 'Chop.' A rising junior at Northeast High School, he was being raised by his grandmother along with many other grandchildren.
