On November 28, 2018, 22-year-old Jordan Malik McCoy, an African American male from Atlanta, was found shot to death on a concrete sidewalk leading to the front porch of a home in Alejo Court, Newnan, Georgia. The discovery was made by homeowner Kevin Byrd, who initially mistook McCoy's body for a deer due to the darkness. Byrd only realized it was a human body upon noticing the shoes.
