Garret Davis McFarland, a 53-year-old African American male from Columbus, Georgia, tragically lost his life on February 24, 2019. McFarland was found with a gunshot wound near 25th Street at Hamilton Road, close to a Dollar General store. He was pronounced dead at the Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown campus emergency room at 2:15 a.m. on the same day.
