On the night of Christmas Eve in 2011, a 30-year-old Black man named Damond Wallace was found shot in the Cherry Hill neighborhood of Baltimore. The discovery was made just before 11 p.m. in a grassy area in the 2700 block of Giles Road. Wallace had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Responding officers found Wallace wounded, and he was quickly transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
Despite the efforts of emergency medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead less than an hour later. At the time of the initial police investigation, Wallace had not yet been identified.
In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, Baltimore City Police detectives appealed to the public for any information regarding the incident. The case was part of a year that saw a significant number of homicides in the city. To date, there have been no publicly released details regarding any suspects or arrests in connection with the death of Damond Wallace. His case remains one of many unsolved homicides in Baltimore, leaving his family without answers.
