On a Sunday night in December 2019, the life of 22-year-old Da'Jai Domonique Greene, a female Specialist in the U.S. Army National Guard from Manchester, Georgia, was tragically cut short in a senseless act of violence. The series of events that led to her untimely death began at a RaceTrac gas station on LaFayette Parkway in LaGrange, Georgia. Greene was in a vehicle with her 21-year-old boyfriend, Deangelo Finley, when a dispute erupted in the parking lot.
The conflict escalated when Finley snatched a necklace from another man, 28-year-old Tierre Tyrell Williams, and quickly retreated to the car where Greene was waiting. As Finley attempted to drive away from the scene, Williams allegedly opened fire on their vehicle. A single bullet struck Da'Jai Greene, inflicting a fatal wound. Emergency services arrived to render aid, and she was rushed to WellStar West Georgia Hospital, but tragically, she succumbed to her injuries.
In the immediate aftermath, law enforcement identified both Finley and Williams as key figures in the incident. Deangelo Finley was promptly arrested and faced a charge of robbery by snatch for his role in instigating the confrontation. He was subsequently booked into the Troup County Jail.
Meanwhile, a manhunt was launched for the alleged shooter, Tierre Tyrell Williams.
